Photos From TOYCON 2015

 I finally got around to sorting through the pics I took from this year's TOYCON. I only went on the first day because I wasn't free to go to the succeeding days of the con. I met up with my usual con buddies and we went around looking through bins  and tables of stuff, and shooting pictures of just about everything. Here are some of what I took.

TOYCON 2015

The Philippine TOYCON, Asia’s biggest and longest running convention for toys, anime, comics, cosplay, gaming and anything and everything related to hobbies and collections is now on its 14th year of thrilling fans and aficionados alike. It is, simply put, the biggest pop culture event in the country.

This year’s TOYCON highlights the World of DC Comics with its colorful characters upholding justice with a grand exhibit from Pacific Licensing. Also get a chance to own cool licensed DC Hoodies from the Authority Hoodie. Southeast Asia’s leading Internet TV service launches in the Philippines, as IFLIX explodes into the pop-culture landscape of the country during the Philippine ToyCon, with unlimited access to its line-up of the most awesome and iconic movies and TV series. Walt Disney Pictures brings in the wonder of Star Wars with its new line of merchandise from the original film saga and the new Star Wars Rebels series. And also, get into the world of the smallest superhero with Marvel’s Antman interactive exhibit. Also catch future and fantasy fever as Universal Pictures’ Terminator: Genisys and Jurassic World launches in ToyCon with an eye-popping display of the movie’s cinematic artwork and line of collectors’ toys. Other movie highlights are the upcoming live-action Attack on Titan from Pioneer Films and Doraemon: Stand By Me the Movie in 3D. Catch Doraemon and friends live at the ToyCon stage!

The TOYCON also gives you its biggest battlefield of toys with exhibits from the local toy clubs: Pinoy Lego users Group exhibit, Planet Krypton, Funko Funatic Philippines, the Coca-Cola Collectibles exhibit, One Sixth Republic and Pinoy Sixth Scale collectors exhibit and the awesome Toycon Gallery exhibit area which showcases the best of the local toy group community.

The TOYCON also features the biggest in Cosplay with the TOYCON’s own Cosplay Universe, unleashing a barrage of individual and group cosplayers led by Asia’s Cosplay queen, Alodia Gosiengfiao. Also catch the Star Wars 501st Philippine Outpost parade its new troopers and droids from a galaxy far, far away.

Revel in opening night festivities with a series of ToyCon Pop Quiz competitions and get your fill of local and foreign comic book artists in the Artist Alley set up by Flipgeeks and Komikon.

TOYCON would not be complete without the biggest dealer floor of all pop culture merchandise in terms of apparel, collectibles and memorabilia, graphic novels and comics, cosplay paraphernalia, and toys, toys, TOYS! Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron at The Block

These photos are from the Avengers: Age of Ultron Experience at The Block, SM City North Edsa. The exhibit opened on April 20, a couple of days before the latest Avenger's movie opened in theaters.

DC Comics Super Hero World Record Event Philippines

 

Warner Bros. Consumer Products SEA and Greater China in collaboration with DC Entertainment, has partnered with Pacific Licensing Studio and SM City North Edsa in Manila to set a world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as DC Comics Super Heroes. Manila will join 15 cities around the globe in an attempt to break the record within 24 hours. 

At the event, fans dressed as DC Comics Super Heroes will gather to celebrate with interactive games and activities inspired by the famed world of DC Comics before formally attempting to set the world record. The DC Comics Super Hero World Record Event will kick off April 18, 2015 in Queensland, Australia and will commence in Los Angeles, CA, USA.

Pacific Licensing Studio Launches World Of DC

Pacific Licensing Studio recently held a press conference to launch their upcoming events this April called "World of DC'. This comprises the release of new merchandise at the SM Store, events and activities that will all happen next weekend.

One day. Two events. Both happening at the same time.

That was the dilemma. My friends and I decided to hit both events.We first went to Komikon and afterwards went on to TAGCOM.

SUMMER KOMIKON 2014

The Philippine's Komiks Convention's Summer Komikon was held at the Bayanihan Center in Pasig city. My friends and I planned on going as early as 10 but I think we actually made it there at a little after 1 PM. The entrance fee was still Php 100, same as it was the year before.
