The 13th Philippine Toys, Hobbies & Collectibles Convention 2014 Super Mega Post

I know it's been months since it wrapped up, but atleast it wasn't as late a posting as 2013's TOYCON. So with out further ado, I give you my 13th Philippines Toys, Hobbies & Collectibles Convention Super Mega Post!

Fair warning: this post is image heavy.

TOYCON, as it's usually called, was held from the 21st to the 22nd of June at the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall.

This year, TOYCON celebrated Batman's 75th year annivesary. The entrances and exits were adorned with arches and posters of the Caped Crusader. There were also toy displays and contests specifically featuring the Dark Knight like the Batman Art contest. (Photo somewhere in the post) Inside the venue  was an area where Batman merchandise from the SM Store was being sold. Beside this was a Batman photo-op area where I was able to take a pic of some cosplayers dressed up as characters from the Batman universe.

The selling area was beyond this display and nearby was the Rourouni Kenshin booth, where costumes from the movie were displayed.

The ArigaToys booth that featured Star Wars troopers and other figures, including those made by NECA and Kotobukiya.

Here are the super heroes. The Adam West Batman is from the NECA display and the rest are from Kotobukiya.

The next set of photos are from the Maxicollector and Toy Empire booths.

I don't have pics of the other booths this year because the selling area was so packed with people.  It was very difficult to move and take photos. There were some  toys that caught my eye as I went around that I was able to take pics of when the crowd let up a bit.

The Guardians of the Galaxy wall, where I was able to take pics of the GotG cosplayers that I uploaded on the previous post.

This wall was just behind the Filbar's booth that sold the Lego Simpson's playset and faced some booths for gamers, like the DC Universe Online gaming booth below.  I remember seeing a radio station booth as well, but I neither remember what station it was, nor do I have a pic.

Nearby wass the exhibit area for the Toyclicks and Batman Art contest. The same area was used for the Cosplay photography contest on Day 3.

Speaking of photos, there was also a Canon booth with photos of celebrities cosplaying that were taken by photographer Jay Tablante.

There's always a stage at TOYCON. This was where they showed videos and held programs during the event.  To the right of the stage were displays of more mini-statues, busts and life-size figures.

The Star Wars helmets above were from the 501st Legion (Philippine Outpost)'s booth that's just beside the exit.  On the other side of the exit was the Flipgeeks booth that had some comic book artists signing comics and doing sketches.

In the middle of the statue display area was the entrance to the collector's display area. Inside was where all sorts of toys and collectibles from private collections of groups and individuals were displayed. There were also more statues inside and a seperate area for the toy customs contest.

These 3 were guarding the entrance.

With Mr. Freeze I now conclude my TOYCON coverage. Till next year!
