Pacific Licensing Studio Launches World Of DC

Pacific Licensing Studio recently held a press conference to launch their upcoming events this April called "World of DC'. This comprises the release of new merchandise at the SM Store, events and activities that will all happen next weekend.

New DC Comics Stuff at The SM Store

The SM Store and Pacific Licensing Studio recently unveiled Justice League: Heroes United @ The SM Store. This store-wide program will feature merchandise designs based on characters from DC's New 52. For those not in the know, the New 52 is the current, rebooted universe of DC Comics, where our favorite characters all got a fresh start that included new looks and character biographies. So don't be surprised to see Superman without his trademark red briefs-- he's finally learned the proper way of wearing one is in his pants.

The Legends & Villains Art Exhibit

Going through folders and folders of my image files last night made me realize I have a lot of stuff I've forgotten about. I found this set of photos in a folder from the 2008 folder. The Legends & Villains art exhibit happened back in March of 2008 and was jointly presented by the Ricco Renzo Gallery and SM City North Edsa. The exhibit featured various superheroes and super villains done by several local artist and ran from March 1 to 8.

I chanced upon the exhibit when I went there to have lunch with my mom and a friend of mine. Here are some pics of the pieces on display.

HAULS: Wonder Woman #10 and Catwoman #70

I got me these two some months back when I went to the mall. I  meet up with some buds to get some stuff and the plan was not to spend a cent; it was supposed to be just pick-up and go home.  But a trip to two comic book stores, one in the mall and the other at the building across, found me spending some dough. Catwoman #70 and Wonder Woman #10 are both part of the Amazon's Attack mini-series which I'm trying to complete. Both were bargain finds: Catwoman for Php 30.00 and Wonder Woman for Php 50.00.

Getting these brings me much closer to finally completing the series. All I need now are 2(?) more Catwoman titles and Amazon's Attack #2. I've read the comments and yes, I know that some think Amazon's Attack sucked. I'm still not passing judgement until I've completed  all the issues and begin reading.

Till then, the hunt continues!

HAULS: An Amazon; A Blood Sucker, and One Big Community

Here are some recent purchases I made. From Comic Odyssey's Sale bins, I got Wonder Woman # 604 and Tomb of Dracula : Throne of blood one-shot. Comic Odyssey had a sale from December that's still ongoing, i think, until they move to their new home in Robinson's Galleria. I never really got around to collecting the new Wonder Woman before DC rebooted into the New 52, so I guess now's a good time to start. 

I made a trip to the bookstore last week and got me Pugad Baboy 21. Finally! I think there are 2 newer editions, but they weren't available at that time, so I wasn't able to get them.I also bought a Black Widow: The Things They Say About Her, because I thought I didn't have that issue yet. Well, it turns out that I do. That's what happens when I go out without my list.

Wonder Woman Movie in 2013?

I was on Youtube watching some Justice League clips featuring Wonder Woman when I came across a fan made trailer for a WW feature film. The clip featured Angelina Jolie with scenes from her movies. Seeing this trailer prompted me to Google information on news or progress of the film. One of the first search results that caught my eye was from IMDB. The page is mostly empty except for this bit of information: next to the title "Wonder Woman" is the year 2013.

Is this true? Would we finally be seeing the Amazon princess on the big screen in 3 years?

Man, I love this trailer! Definitely one of the best trailers from any video game I've seen so far. The game  comes out in November 2010.
